I started looking for a way to bypass the crankcase vent being fed into the airbox. 5 minuted later, still idling smooth as butter.īack to my old friend GOOGLE, low and behold I discovered a ton of information regarding this exact thing (mostly from stunters who abuse the hell out of their engines til they are dead). removed the hose again, rev'ed up again, so I adjusted the idle to 1600 and waited to see if it was going to stall. Re-connceted the hose and the idle dropped and it almost stalled. When I removed the crankcase breather hose, it rev'ed even higher. I was about to pull the carbs out one more time to see if something happened to them (had a slide spring the was all whacky once on my 01), had the bike running but had to turn the idle way up so it wouldn't stall. Turns out the used motor I put into it has worn rings and lots of blow by, causing abnormal amounts of pressure in the crankcase. I racked my brain for days troubleshooting what the hell it could be. I was finishing up some things on the 02 I've been working on, the damn thing started to have issues stalling when it is up to temp.
